Homemade Honey Granola

  • 1 kg organic rolled oats
  • 500g organic dessicated coconut
  • 500ml organic flaked almonds
  • 250ml organic sesame seeds
  • 1 litre organic honey
  • 125ml organic sunflower oil
  • 60ml of spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, or allspice)

Mix all the dry ingredients and spices

Gently warm the honey and oil

Stir the dry ingredients into the honey mix

The mix should be coated but not wet

Line some flat baking trays with baking parchment and spread the mix out on them

Toast for 2 hours @ 150*C (taking the trays out to toss the oats after 1 hour)

Once it has cooled add dried fruit of your choice, and nuts or additional seeds like pumpkin if you wish.

  • banana chips, sultanas, mango, sour cherries, apricot, dried apple
  • vary the spice according to what fruit you use: apple & cinnamon

For a vegan version use golden syrup instead of honey.
