This is such a quick and simple salad that it really relies on perfect ingredients. Make sure your lettuce is fresh, your avocado and figs ripe, and your Serrano ham and Balsamic vinegar of the best possible quality. Some good crusty bread would not do any harm either.
- Wash and spin dry some fresh lettuce – something with a bit of bite, not iceberg.
- put it in your bowl and then add
- thin slices of ripe and peeled avocado pear
- trim the tough end of the fig stem off, then slice in segments and add to the salad
- tear wafer thin slices of Serrano ham into mouth sized pieces
- shave some Parmesan on top if required
- drizzle with a good, viscous Balsamic vinegar and a few squeezes of fresh lemon.
Stop the clock – guaranteed less than 2 minutes. Enjoy!
