I truly believe this, as chocolate is one of the all time best foods ever invented/grown/made etc. But this time I’m not the only one who thinks so. Thanks to all of you who voted I am the winner of Holly’s First Art You can Eat competition for my Wildberry Mousse in a Dark Chocolate Bramble Cage.
Look, I have the banner to prove it!
Thank you Holly, and all the voters. It was such fun and there was some seriously good competition. I am still working my way through the entries. Several people have said you are going to try making my dessert. If you do I’d love to hear how it went.
In the meantime, as the winner I get the pleasure of choosing the next ingredient. As it will be the March competition I have chosen eggs, to represent Easter and the pagan celebration of rebirth and renewal. Roll on Spring! Holly and I agreed that this may be a little limiting so it can either be something made with egg as the main ingredient (this means there has to be more egg than anything else), or something in an egg shape. We leave the rest up to you.
For details go to the Art You can Eat site where Holly will lay out the rules and tell you where to send entries. The only bad thing about this is that I’m now desperate for some chocolate mousse but I ate it all ages ago. Perhaps it’s time to get back in the kitchen…

Congratulations. I had always thought your dessert to be too beautiful to eat…thak goodness for the camera
Congratulations – it was very well deserved! So mouth-wateringly beautiful.
Congratulations – sooooo very very well deserved! Your dessert truly is a work of art – one anyone would be thrilled to have as a sculpture in their home as well as a bit of scrumptiousness on their table!
Well done! When you first posted about that dessert I thought it was gorgeous–what a treat to see it again. You totally deserved to win!

[...] a very cool competition. This month it must be egg shaped or made with eggs. Last month Inge of Vanielje Kitchen won it with an incredible creation. Due March [...]
Congrats, that was absolutely gorgeous. Hope to create something with the eggs you have chosen.
What a beautiful dessert! Were you a little sad to eat it?
Thank you all for your congratulations. I was a little surprised as there were some really great entries, but to answer your questions Chou, no I was not at all sad to eat it. In fact I think I ate four. The only thing I was sad about was that re-posting the pics made me want one all over again. So I did the chocolate mousse thing without the cages this time. I hope you are all working on your Easter egg entries. Lateral thinking ladies. And good luck!
Almost no words – so beautiful, so creative! Love it. Congrats.
Congratulations – that entry was soooooo worth it! I am still amazed at how you got those perfect little cages – we are not worthy, we are not worthy!!
